เกี่ยวกับผู้บรรยาย
ศาสตราจารย์เปาโล เพียซซาร์ดี เคยดำรงตำแหน่งผู้ช่วยทูตฝ่ายวัฒนธรรมของสถานทูตอิตาลีประจำประเทศไทย 2 สมัยต่อเนื่องกัน และยังเป็นอดีตรองประธานสโมสรโรตารี่ (กรุงเทพ) และอดีตประธาน Dante Alighiery Society รวมถึงเขียนหนังสือเรื่อง ชาวอิตาเลียนในราชสำนักสยาม อันเป็นหนังสือที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับศิลปินอิตาเลียนที่เดินทางเข้ามาทำงานในราชสำนักสยามในช่วงต้นศตวรรษที่ 20

ในปี 2013 ศาสตราจารย์เปาโล เพียซซาร์ดี ได้รับปริญญากิตติมศักดิ์ด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ จากมหาวิทยาลัยปาเวีย (Pavia University) ประเทศอิตาลี ด้วยหัวข้อวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง “ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยและวาติกัน จากสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ถึงปัจจุบัน” ผลงานตีพิมพ์อื่น ๆ ได้แก่ หนังสือนำชมศิลปะสยาม, พระแก้วมรกต และบทความเกี่ยวกับไลฟ์สไตล์ทั้งในวารสารไทยและอิตาเลียน

About the speaker
Professor Paolo Piazzardi served as cultural attaché to the Italian Embassy in Bangkok for two consecutive terms. Former vice president of The Rotary Club of Bangkok, and President of Dante Alighiery Society, he is the author of Italians at the Court of Siam, a book in the memory of Italian Artists who modernized the Kingdom at the dawn of the 20th century. In the Year 2013, he was awarded the Honorary Degree “cum laude” in International Relations, at Pavia University (Italy). The Thesis was “Thai-Vatican relations from WWII until our times.” His publications include guide-books on Siamese art, Emerald Buddha, and lifestyle articles for Italian and Thai magazines.
